This Privacy Policy explains how FoilMaster ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the FoilMaster mobile application (including the optional Apple Watch companion), related web properties, and services.
Website analytics (public pages)
On selected public pages at foilmaster.app, we may use Google Analytics 4 only after you opt in through our cookie banner. If you reject optional analytics, we do not load that measurement script for your browser on those pages. You can withdraw consent later by clearing site data for our site or contacting us at support@foilmaster.app.
1. Information We Collect
a. Account & identity
- Email address, display name, and profile image when you create an account
- Authentication data when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password
- Subscription tier and purchase status (transactions are processed by Apple)
b. Training & app activity
- Session and training data you generate (e.g. GPS tracks, maneuvers, session statistics, lesson progress, bookmarks)
- Device and diagnostics: app version, OS version, and operational logs to improve reliability and security
- Crash and performance data via Firebase (Firebase Analytics collection may be disabled in the app build; we still use Firebase services such as Auth, Firestore, Storage, and Cloud Messaging where applicable)
c. Media (if you grant access)
- Camera, photo library, and microphone: used when you record or upload videos, select media, or scan QR codes (only when you choose the related feature)
d. Location & weather
- Precise and background location when you enable session tracking, as described in the system permission prompts
- Weather information from Apple WeatherKit for conditions related to your sessions (subject to Apple's WeatherKit terms)
e. Health data (optional)
- On iPhone: with your permission, we may read HealthKit categories such as sleep analysis, heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, heart rate, step count, and active energy to power recovery and readiness features.
- On Apple Watch: with your permission, the companion app may read and write workout-related data to Health (e.g. recording a workout). Health data is used for training insights and is not sold.
f. Coaching & social
- Remote coaching: messages, lesson metadata, and videos you upload for instructor review are stored and transmitted to provide the service
- Optional school or friend connections (e.g. QR codes): we process data needed to link accounts or organizations you choose to connect with
g. Notifications
- Push notification tokens and preferences to send reminders and service updates; you can turn off notifications in iOS Settings
h. Purchases
- Subscription status and entitlements are processed via Apple and may be mirrored in RevenueCat for in-app access control
We do not sell your personal information. If we present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, we will use any permitted data only as described when you consent (you can change your choice in Settings).
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide core features: tracking, journal, learning content, and coaching
- To operate subscriptions and in-app purchases through Apple
- To respond to support requests and secure your account
- To improve performance, safety, and product experience
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Limited sharing may occur with:
- Service providers: e.g. Google (Firebase, authentication), RevenueCat (subscriptions), and Apple (payments, Sign in with Apple, WeatherKit)
- Coaches or schools when you book a lesson, join a course, or choose to share content
- Authorities when required by law
HealthKit data from the iPhone app is used for training insights and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties. Apple processes WeatherKit and payment data under its own policies.
4. Safety & reporting
If you experience abuse or unsafe behavior in coaching or messaging features, contact support@foilmaster.app. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate our Terms or applicable law.
5. Data Retention
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service or comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion as described below.
6. Account Deletion
You can delete your account in the app: open the Profile tab, scroll to the account section, and choose Delete Account. This removes your personal data and training content tied to the account, subject to technical retention described in-app. If you cannot access the app, email support@foilmaster.app.
7. Your Rights
- Access, correction, or deletion requests (including via account deletion)
- Withdraw optional permissions (HealthKit, location, camera, photos, microphone, notifications)
- EU/UK users may have additional rights under GDPR; contact us to exercise them
8. Children's Privacy
FoilMaster is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent.
9. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in the European Economic Area, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes may be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
